The office

During its more than 750 years history, the Lange Voorhout in the centre of the Hague, close the Parliament, has been a centre for politics, power and influence. Its residents included members of the Royal Family, magistrates, politicians and diplomatic service. Since 2004, the Stratagem Group is continuing this tradition by residing at Lange Voorhout 72.

Lange Voorhout is part of the route that Queen Beatrix follows on Prinsjesdag, from the Stratagem offices one has a beautiful view on the parade with the golden coach.

The first tenants of Lange Voorhout 72 were registered in 1542. It has served as an office for more than forty years now. It is one of the smallest dwellings, only 2.70m wide, but over 20m deep.

The house next door is now the Escher Museum, but was owned by the Royal family from 1896 – 1990. Palace Lange Voorhout’s golden balcony was famous for the ‘balcony scene’ after the annual Prinsjesdag. Before Queen Beatrix was crowned in 1989, her mother, Queen Juliana used it as her working palace. It is still used by the royal family for special occasions.
